    Description

NEW Smarthockey training aid ball for stickhandling
    Auction is for 1 ball
Smarthockey was started with one goal in mind - make US and Canadian hockey players better by developing products and training programs that let players train anywhere, anytime.
As former players, we trained with world renowned hockey instructors like Dr. Yasha Smushkin, Laura Stamm, and Real Turcotte, but we always wished we had a way to practice what we learned after the camps were done.
After our playing days were over, we started running our own camp and realized that our students only got better when they were on the ice with us because they didn't have a viable way of training when they were at home.
So in 2001, we introduced the Smarthockey Training Ball so our students could work on their stickhandling, shooting and passing skills at home or before games and practices.
Apparently, we weren't the only ones that thought the balls were a good idea.  In less than 12 months our balls were being sold in over 500 hundred hockey pro shops across the US, Canada, Sweden, Russia, Japan, UK and even Australia.
Believe it or not, in 2014, the Smarthockey MAXX was the first and only weighted hockey training ball on the market.
Our goal was to make a ball that felt like it was twice as heavy as an ice hockey puck, so players could strengthen their wrists and forearms while they worked on their stickhandling, shooting and passing.
There’s actually a lot of technology in the Smarthockey MAXX - enough that we received a patent. The core of the MAXX is a solid stainless steel ball bearing. The bearing adds the weight.  We could have stopped there and sold just the ball bearing, but instead, we chose to use the same Surlyn outer shell that we use on our Original Training Ball and Puck so the MAXX would roll smoothly, have the dead feel of an ice hockey puck and be “slapshot” proof.
So, if your goal is to build stronger wrists and forearms for a harder shot and more puck control, shoot the MAXX 100 times and stickhandle for 15 minutes every night and you’ll be on your way!
    Smart Hockey Stickhandling Ball
#1 selling training ball in North America
Replicates an ice hockey puck's WEIGHT, BOUNCE, SLIDE and CONTACT HEIGHT
For years European and Soviet players have used wooden stickhandling balls before games and practices to develop lightening quick, soft hands.
In 2001, Smarthockey introduced the Smarthockey Training Ball which used space-aged materials to replicate an ice hockey puck's weight, bounce, slide and contact height for off-ice stickhandling, shooting and passing development.
The patented dual density core has a proprietary outer shell that is made of a heat resistant Surlyn material that doesn't "smush" or become pliant on hot pavement which makes it perfect for training on any surface.
The ball works so well that in just one year it's already being used by 22 NHL teams and 35 D1 US Collegiate teams before games/practices and for off-ice training.
The ball was used by the Russian National Team in the 2002 Olympics and is now being sold in Europe were it is fast replacing the traditional wooden stickhandling ball.
It was recognized as a "Product of Merit" at the 2002 USA Hockey National Coaches conference and it used extensively by Skills Development Instructors throughout North America, Japan, Austrialia and Sweden.
The Smarthockey Training Ball is a must have for any aspiring player who wants to improve his Stickhandling, Shooting or Passing skills.
Every serious player should keep one in their bag for pre-game warm-ups exercises.
