In 1967, Butch Leal had the quickest and fastest injected nitro burning A/FC. By 1968, Leal was nowhere to be found in the funny car class. He surfaced
racing in the stock car classes. Butch declared the funny car class too dangerous and quit to play golf and race a stocker in 1968.
