The Smarthockey 3oz Ball - Speed Ball
Helps players develop lightning quick, soft hands. At 3oz (85g), Smarthockey's 3oz ball is a more durable, "true feel" version of a wooden "Swedish" stickhandling ball. In other words, IT DOESN'T BREAK, IT'S HEAVY ENOUGH TO FEEL ON YOUR STICK AND IT ROLLS FASTER. It's Just BETTER. The patented MINI 2-piece dynamic core technology combines an ultra durable Surlyn shell with proprietary core found in the ORIGINAL. The solid core covered by a dimpled Surlyn shell eliminates any pliancy or "smushing" of the ball between the stick and the training serface and provides unparalleled tactile feel. The combination of the Surlyn shell and the weight (2oz or 56g) makes the ball roll faster than a puck slides on a clean sheet of ice. The proprietary core matches the "dull" bounce of a puck's vulcanized rubber.

The patented 2-piece dynamic core technology is the only hockey training ball engineered to accurately simulate the weight, bounce and slide of an ice hockey puck so players can transition from off-ice training to on-ice play without noticing a difference. The solid core covered by Smarthockey's new dimpled Surlyn shell eliminates any pliancy or "smushing" of the ball between the stick and the training surface. At just under 6oz (141g) the physics considers the "incremental weight" caused by the friction of off-ice training surfaces simulating the weight of a 6oz puck. The combination of the shell and proprietary steel core matches the "dull" bounce of a puck's vulcanized rubber. The tear resistant Surlyn shell rolls as quickly as a puck slides on a fresh sheet of ice. Finally, the diameter of the ball is 1.68" making the profile lower than Smarthockey's Original off ice ball which helps players develop even faster, softer hands than before.

At just over 8oz (226g), the MAXX is almost double the weight of the Smarthockey ORIGINAL, but if feels 2X (12oz) as heavy as an ice ice hockey puck. The patented 2-piece ball technology combines an ultra durable dimpled Surlyn shell with a steel core. The solid core covered by a Surlyn shell eliminates an pliancy or "smushing" of the ball between the stick and the training surface. The diameter of the ball is 2" marking it the exact height at which an ice hockey pucks contacts the stick. The added weight combined with the roll and contact height of the MAXX ball strengthens a player's wrists simply by stickhandling it.
